Old habits die hard, but they do die.

Here are some decisions I've over the last month:

1. Cut all pop, diet pop, energy drinks and sugary drinks out.
I used to drink at least 3 cans of diet coke zero day, have energy drink while I bartend and drink fruit juice all the time. I was basically drinking calories, loading up on sugar and toxins. Now that I'm not drinking pop anymore (my #1 choice of drink) I'm avoiding weight gain, ruining the enamel on my teeth and relying on the need for caffeine. This is a good article.

2. Loading up on H2O
I make it my goal to drink a minimum of a gallon of water a day. I keep gallon jugs of cold water in my mini fridge so that its easy to access and I have a big, reusable, water bottle that I keep filled. I get bored with just water so I either add Crystal Lite (sugar free, low cal) or add fresh lemon slices to make the water test less blah. When life gives you lemons...

3. I'm back in the gym
My friend and boss, Jen, is my work out partner. She pushes me and knows a lot of good exercises. We recently signed up for Tough Mudder in September so that's extra motivation to get in shape. I lift weights, do the machines and do an hour of hard carido on the elliptical at a high level. Also our gym offers a sauna which feels amazing after a hard work out. I feel that my muscles hurt less, my skin feels better and it gives me an hour of quiet and me time where I can read or just plain relax without anyone around! I suggest trying a sauna session!

4. I DO NOT touch Ranch anymore.
Seriously it seems like this world can't eat anything without ranch on it. It's loaded with fat and calories and I just got plain sick of tired of every food I ate tasting like ranch... Gross. Same goes with ketchup or any other types of dips. Food should taste better naturally not submerged in dressings.

5. Sleep schedule
Bartending gives me a weird sleep schedule. I used come home on average at 3 and finally get into bed at 5 am then proceed to sleep in until noon or 2 the next day. Now when I come home I go straight to my room, get ready for bed and then go to bed. I try to avoid going the computer because the blue screen glow of electronics trick your brain into staying awake and trying to function. Also instead of sleeping in any time I want, I force myself to wake up after 7-8 hours of sleep. Too much sleep is just as bad as not enough sleep. Zzzzzz...

6. Avoid anything processed
A rule I live by now is "Don't eat food that my great-great-great-great grandmother couldn't recognize as food" By avoiding processed foods like hot pockets or mac-n-cheese or anything of that other crud I'm saving a crap ton of calories, fat and SODIUM. There's so much salt and preservatives in processed food. I make sure that I have fruits and veggies that are easy to get to to snack on so that I'm not tempted to snack on bad foods.  Low rate of body decay after we die because of preservatives...

That's just a few things that I've done in the past month and I definitely can feel a difference.
I just wanted to share :)

Boomshakalaka

I started using CTS 360 Clincal a couple days ago. I used to take CTS360 before I went to Mexico and had some really good results (I went from around 168 to roughly 145-148) with working out and eating good in about 8 weeks. I have a goal weight of getting down to 125. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing but while taking is so far whenever I eat something probably not the greatest for me I feel kinda sick and also I feel like I get full really fast. I can handle that though. It's teaching me I have to chose what foods I can eat otherwise I'll suffer the consequences!

Anyways though, I am laying low tonight because I have to go to Eau Claire tomorrow for Tony's nephew's 1st birthday party then as soon as I come back home I have to go straight to Smokey's to bartend at 8. There's a smoker for one of the softball team's we sponsor and a surprise birthday party. It's gonna be buuuusy! Which is a good thing because, why I don't know, but the bar has been deader than usual and that means I'm broker than usual and I do not like that one bit.

I'm hoping I make enough money in tips tomorrow too because Sunday I think I'm going to be getting my 3rd tattoo. My friend Meghan has a friend that's a really good tattoo artist and he's in town. So far I've decided that I'm going to get this fire dancer, probably about this size too, on the small of my lower back. No, not a tramp stamp. It's pretty, not trashy. DMB.

Now I have to go shopping for a quick birthday present then up to Tony's for the night :)

I got some new shoes :)

I get them Tuesday and it's supposed to be a high of 57 so I am really hoping I get they get delivered early in the morning so that I can go out hiking somewhere...anywhere. I am just so ready for it to be warm out so that I can actually go outside and do stuff. My goal this summer is to spend the majority of the time outside. Kyaking, going on walks, rollerblading, biking, hiking, and swimming. I just want to be outside and feel sunshine on me and not be stuck inside!

Anyways, I am almost done with my CTS360 that I used before Mexico to lose weight/get in shape so I went out and bought the newer version, CTS360 Clinical which is supposed to be even stronger. I get to start that in a couple days and hopefully I see some results. I've been lifting again but not losing weight but I think I'm at that weird point where I am losing fat but putting back on the muscle that I lost after I got back from Mexico. I can feel that I'm getting stronger and I'm really glad I'm not in as bad of shape as I thought I was!

186 days until Tough Mudder!

Tough Mudder!

I officially signed up for Tough Mudder yesterday! Jen (my boss) and I are going to do it on September 8th, 2012. I am so freaking PUMPED! It looks like it'll probably kill me but I know I can make it through it and it'll be such an accomplishment! Jen and I are starting a training program that was offered on the site along with Jen's other training that she knows and come September we're going to be ready!

No patience...

I can't wait until I have my dream job. I have this image in my head about where I want to be within the next two years and I wish I could fast forward. I am so tired all the time with my weird sleep schedule from bartending. I'm not complaining at all, I know that it'd be hard to find a job that I can work the hours I do and make the money I do. I just can't wait for the day I get to wake up, put on my scrubs and go to the hospital because I now work there.

Anyways, I have been feeling really cruddy lately. I know I need to get back in the gym and start eating healthier. Now that I know what it's like to have a healthier life and what it's like to lose weight it makes me depressed thinking about turning into a chubby monkey again. I was in such good shape before Mexico! I wish I would have kept going when I got back and not went back to my old ways. I can only imagine what I'd look like now. Not as fluffy that's for sure.

I need to sleep, I open the bar tomorrow morning then I'm hanging out with Tony before him and his buddies go on 'Mancation' for the weekend. Lucky!

That shhh cray.

I got punched in the face bartending tonight breaking up a fight. Not cool!
This girl was so rude to me! She threw a lemon at me she had already sucked on, yelled at me for not serving her fast enough, and yelled at me for serving a guy that was waaay ahead of her then she tried picking a fight with him!? She accused me of not using MY tip money to buy her a shot that she really didn't need because she was 'too fucking old!' Nope I just plain don't know your crazy ass. She had a pool stick in her hand when I went to go break up a fight that SHE started for grabbing some guy's jewels and dudes fiance wasn't having it...It's like what the? Come on now. Then she punches me in my face for trying to get her out the door. Apparently she's a bartender elsewhere too. Who does that!? Grow up! No, not cool at all. ANYWAYS, bitches be crazy that's all I gotta say.

PS- If it wasn't for respecting Jen and the bar and dating a cop, I would have been on that crazy lady like white on rice on a paper place in a snow storm. My face is my money maker, I am beautiful. End of story!

Haha :)

I wish I was 21 already!

Working at Smokey's, I make some pretty nice tips. I love bartending and I love the money. I've been watching Full Throttle Saloon this past season and really got on the kick to work there BUT you have to be 21 to even be considered. And that's just not for bartenders, that's for any and every position :( So I looked into working at the Cannon Run this summer. It's a big biker party in August from Wed-Sun and I heard you make crazy money there. I sent the contact person all my info asking if I could get a job there so hopefully I hear back!
I want these. They are tooooo cute.
